Newell around 1947, this saddle is made of top quality leather and has been well-cared for throughout its life. Some wear from many years of use, but this saddle is as solid as ever.

- Marked on metal cantle tag: “Made by Walter L. Newell; Creators of Fine Saddles & Leather Goods, 1906 So. 7th St, St. Louis, MO”.
- Stamped on seat: “Newell’s Saddle Shop, St. Louis, MO”
- Condition: Good, vintage condition. Pliable, supple leather in great condition for its age. This saddle was loved & taken care of. Saddle shearling is in excellent shape. There are holes where silver corner plates were added at one point.
* Tapaderos have a shearling lining on the inside top. One tapadero does have an interior crack. Please see photos.
* The decorative studs do have worn black enamel paint. Only a few studs appear to be missing.
* Off billets and back cinch appear to be original to the saddle, as the tooling appears to match.
